For the last week and a half, Ryan and I had the chance to embark on our east coast honeymoon – just shy of eleven days of camping, sight-seeing and lots of joy n’ laughter.

Our first stop was packing up our lil’ hatchback to camp in the Adirondack Mountains amongst the tall pines and gloomy yet dreamy fog. We cooked dinner, made up a fire with s’mores + aeropress coffee and hiked one of the high peaks, Cascade Mountain early in the morning and enjoyed the evening views of White Face Mountain.

Next stop was cutting through New Hampshire and the White Mountain National Forest to arrive in Burlington, Vermont to explore the city. Noteable visits were the coffee stop Scout & Co., Church Street Marketplace (which had amazing street tacos!) and Citizen Cider – a cider mill serving a killer menu and their incredibly versatile draft ciders.

Portland, Maine was next on our itinerary – we booked the most wonderful airbnb imaginable – a bonus, you could smell the ocean as soon as we entered the city.

Tandem Coffee Roasters (which had incredible coffee and addictive pastries), Bard Coffee, Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse, Palace Diner, Portland Flea For All (seriously the most amazing flea market ever), Bayside Bowl (great rooftop bar & tacos served out of an airstream) and so many other downtown noteable spots. A truly beautiful city with so much to offer.

Acadia National Park on the coast of Maine was our final camping destination, within the Blackwoods Campground with little to no service, we had our Kelty tent all set up along with our Eno hammock, ready to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean views. We ventured up Cadillac  Mountain, Bass Harbor Lighthouse, Otter Cliffs, Jordan Pond – just a few of our favorites on our trip.

Lastly ending in Northhampton, Massachusetts (relaxing airbnb rest stop) and Albany, New York (to visit my sister, brother-in-law and one month old adorable nephew!) we’re just wrapping this lovely honeymoon up with all sorts of good company. After working hectic schedules right after our wedding, it’s been such a blessing to have time just as a married couple – experiencing new places hand in hand, memories I’ll cherish forever.
