A lot on my mind lately has been “okay, God, things are going great, but… what’s next?”
For the past few years – I have gotten into that unending habit of always looking ahead to the next stride – long distance with Ryan, moving to Yosemite and working there, Ryan moving to Rochester, getting engaged, getting married, starting my new position at my new job …. and now here I am!
Of course I am incredibly happy! As a human being and an adventure seeker I believe it’s natural to set a plan for what’s ahead and I think it’s the first point in my life (and my husband’s) where I’m not entirely sure where or what it looks like next for us. We have hopes and passions but aren’t sure where they will take us – which is a little terrifying, honestly!
Today I was reminded of the verse:
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.” 1 Timothy 6:6-7
Contentment is a never ending battle – whether we realize it or not. I am realizing though I have no set plan to strive for at the moment – God has plans for me where I am right now and will guide my husband and I in whatever way He desires – on His time. Being thankful everyday for His gifts and never taking all His blessings for granted by being stir-crazy selfish beings.
