VACATIONLAND

Summer is in full swing here in Maine AKA Vacationland and this year, more than ever before, I am so thankful to live in such a lush n’ lovely state. Though Ryan and I love to travel everywhere, staying safe and close to home through the pandemic has allowed us to explore parts of our state that we may never have otherwise.

Island camping, hiking, fog chasing (so much fog this season, my goodness) has been just a few of our highlighted events this Summer. Our favorite morning activity is to bring our beach chairs and coffee by the water to watch the waves roll by. Also enjoying a fire by our campsite was so refreshing we now have a fire pit in our backyard, nothing can beat the comfort of a fire.

Vaughn Island, Reid State Park, Kettle Cove, Lincolnville Motel (cute getaway in midcoast Maine), Mt. Battie in Camden Hills State Park have been escapes for us thus far and we will continue to explore more as the season presses on. What are you favorite getaways? We hope to continue to climb more up north towards Canada especially in the Fall.

Camping and spending time outdoors is always what helps my mind, body and soul reset and feel at ease – if you have the ability to and haven’t tried it out, give it a try! Investing in a nice backpackers tent, sleeping bags and aeropress (for easy morning coffee of course) has made any one of our overnight trips painless and so relaxing.
